Sand Animation
Nuit Blanche
Project details
Purpose of the Event: Nuit Blanche Toronto is a free, annual, city-wide celebration of contemporary art, produced by the City of Toronto in collaboration with Toronto’s arts community. For one sleepless night, from sunset to sunrise, the familiar is discarded and Toronto is transformed into an artistic playground for a series of exhilarating contemporary art experiences in unexpected public spaces.
Art performance, Sand animation. Sand animation is a style of drawing animations and live performance using sand. The sand artist (sand performer) creates a number of images in a sequence forming a series by applying the sand on the surface then drawing figures and lines with own hands; a light box or an overhead projector is used.
Interactive live performance to engage people to try a new art medium. The art show “ Textures of Toronto” - a sequence of animated graphics tells the story of city’s diversity and multicultural.
Project duration: 1 day and 1 night.
