Toothcheck
Project details
Root2Crown is a start-up company from Toronto, Ontario. This business offers innovative technologies to help dentists and their patients detect and prevent oral health conditions and diseases.
Purpose of the project: The team of designers and developers implemented an interactive dental application called “Toothcheck”. Toothcheck allows people to learn proper dental hygiene through play. By answering questions correctly in the Daily Habits section, users can collect points, gain achievements and unlock new games. This educational tool kit is an amazing addition to Root2Crown’s customer service and clearly shows their passion for their clients health.
UX process: Create a full UI map and user flow to understand what would be the best way for users to navigate within the application. Develop detailed wireframes and place all the components. Since the Daily Habits survey is a core and starting point of the application, it was put on the front page and shaped into circles to keep it as the primary focus.
Project duration: 4 months
Team: UI/UX Designers, Developers, PO, PM
Visual Design: The light green colours were chosen to associate it with health and red for the highlights such as total points, the progress of the survey, and main menu buttons.
HTML games: Based on UX research and brainstorming sessions the Games function was implemented in the application. The purpose of the games was to encourage users to collect the points within the app and have a fun experience with the application. With the provided graphical assets and user flows two games had been developed - "Mealtime" and "Bactoserfer".
Project outcomes: Toothcheck web and mobile application have been designed and developed. Two HTML games have been implemented to the application interaction.
